New Single Channel Virtual Oscilloscope – A Simpler Tool for Intermediate Physics Classes

Single Channel Virtual Oscilloscope simulation showing a sinusoidal waveform on the oscilloscope screen, connected to a Low Frequency Generator
Single Channel Virtual Oscilloscope Simulation

Following feedback from educators who found the dual-channel version too complex for intermediate physics classes, I developed a simplified single-channel variant aimed at Grade 9 classes and below.

The simulation covers the essentials: one function generator with sine, triangular, and square waveforms, a DC generator, adjustable frequency and amplitude, and a screen magnifier. Clean, focused, and pedagogically appropriate for a first encounter with oscilloscopes.

This release is part of my ongoing work building a comprehensive library of high-quality interactive physics simulations on Physics-Zone.com — tools that support modern, visual, inquiry-based teaching approaches.
