Projectile Game

In this game, you must employ the projectile equations to win.
To measure the horizontal distance between the cannon and the target, drag a vertical cursor to the position of the cannon and the other vertical cursor to the position of the target, and the horizontal distance will be shown in the “Horizontal distance” box (enable the visibility of the cursors first).

Fix the launching angle to the desired value, and then, using a suitable equation from the projectile equations, calculate the initial velocity.
The game consists of three levels, each of which must be completed by scoring at least 8 out of a possible 10 tries. In the first level, you must hit a ground target that shifts position after each attempt. In the second level, you will need to alter the ball’s trajectory to pass over a wall. In the third level, the target flies and changes position both horizontally and vertically in each trial.

    Area Model of Partial Products

Elementary math teachers know the importance of this model in teaching the concept of applying distributive property in area model.
The idea is to break one large area (which represents the product of two numbers) into several pieces (products of smaller numbers), then to find the areas of the pieces individually, and finally add to get the area of the whole (the product of the given numbers).

    Newton’s first law demonstration

Newton’s first law states that when net force is zero, objects at rest remain at rest and objects in motion continue at constant velocity. This experiment uses an air cushion scooter to eliminate friction, demonstrating that with zero net force (weight balanced by track reaction), the scooter remains stationary when at rest and continues moving at constant speed when given an initial push, until an external force stops it.

    Verifying Newton’s second law

This zero-gravity experiment aboard a space shuttle demonstrates Newton’s second law. With no gravitational force, an astronaut applies the same force to balls of different masses. The lighter ball accelerates more than the heavier one, proving the inverse relationship between mass and acceleration when force is constant (F=ma). A perfect demonstration of fundamental physics principles in microgravity conditions.

  • Education before technology

Educational technology is more about strategically leveraging technology to enhance, transform, and even redefine teaching and learning than just merging education with technology. You have to be a strong educator equipped with learning theories, educational methodologies, and statistical analysis in the first place to be a successful educational technologist.
